PLC (Power Line Communication) is a general technological term for high-speed power line communication. PLC uses power lines, which until now were only used to transfer electricity, to transmit and receive data that may normally be exchanged over the internet.

HD-PLC Alliance was established in September of 2007 to promote and expand HD-PLC, and to secure communication compatibility between products by various manufacturers.

This website is created by Nikkei Digital Media Inc. in collaboration with HD-PLC Alliance, an association which promotes the use of Power Line Communication (PLC).
